Omega Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer
September 27, 2022
Just when you thought Omega couldn’t top themselves, welcome a watch that can tell time in space. Mars to be exact. Taking a cue from the red planet, this 45mm chronograph has red hematite and anodized aluminum bezel that’s a nod to the color of the planet’s sand and dirt.
Created in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), the new Omega Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer can track time zones on Earth and Mars. Yeah, this is just a tad mind-boggling. Under the Marstimer’s hood is Omega’s 5633 Calibre. The thermo-compensated, quartz movement handles both the watch’s digital and analog functions.
Honestly, reading the specs, one feels like there’s a paradigm shift in watchmaking. So, let’s continue to blow your mind with all the things this titanium watch can do. It was originally developed for scientists (lucky dogs), so you’re getting all the crazy bells and whistles that an astrophysicist could use in the office. These functions, btw, were developed under a patented ESA license. They include an MTC function that tracks Mars’ sol date and time at the prime meridian. And this takes into consideration that a Mars day is 39 minutes longer than an Earth day. A solar compass can find true north on Earth and Mars. Owners can also tap into the apps available for the Speedmaster X33, including the MET (Mission Elapsed Time), PET (Phase Elapsed Time), alarms and a perpetual calendar.
Let’s chat about the dial. It’s black, making it easy to read Earth and Mars symbols, functions, and oh yes, the time. The hands, indices and bezel markings are luminous because you need to see in the dark, no matter what planet you’re on. Speaking of hands, the seconds hand is black to red gradient. As if you didn’t need something else to marvel at.
Wait! There’s more! This watch comes in a gorgeously designed watch roll. Tucked inside is a strap-changing tool. You’ll need it for when you want to switch out the grade two and five titanium bracelet to a dedicated NATO strap. The roll is embossed with a reproduction of the Hebes Chasma, a steep-sided canyon on Mars.
Right now you can head over to the Omega site and sign up to be added to the wish list for when it goes on sale online. Or, you can go to an Omega store and pick one up immediately.

Zodiac and Watches.com have teamed up and created an uber-sexy limited edition watch: Zodiac x Watches.com Super Sea Wolf Meteorite. They’ve upped the Sea Wolf model with an out-of-this-world detail. The dial has been created from an actual meteorite. Zodiac used the Muonionalusta Meteorite which fell to earth and landed in Sweden around 800,000 years ago. Each dial is slightly different due to the patterns that the metals (iron and nickel) have created within the rock.
You know how almost every brand states that their limited edition is a limited edition? Well, Zodiac created only 182 timepieces. Snagging this piece is like owning a piece of the limitless universe.
The watch is 40mm, and is an automatic three-hand and is water resistant to 20 ATM. Ulysse Nardin Blast Tourbillon Rainbow
August 29, 2022
Sometimes you look at a watch, and your mind goes blank. No, I take it back. Sometimes you look at a watch, and all you can hear is this tiny voice screaming, “Gimme.” Ulysse Nardin created this insane-looking tourbillon that was a highlight of the recent Geneva Watch Days. What do you look at first — the giant X that covers the dial, the rainbow-hued case or the micro-rotor placed at the 12?
Montblanc Geosphere 0 Oxygen Automatic Watch
This limited-edition automatic watch contains no oxygen within the timepiece, which protects the movements from wear and tear and ensures the best possible precision. While that’s a unique feature worth mentioning, the real draw of this watch is the gorgeous blue watch face featuring a view of the earth as seen from space.
According to Montblanc, “The timepiece comes in a 42mm bronze case with a bi-directional knurled ceramic bezel with luminescent cardinal points and Maison’s glacier pattern dial. The watch is powered by the MB 29.25 automatic movement. Like all 1858 Geosphere models, both the Northern and Southern hemispheres are represented with two three-dimensional globes and include a day & night indication so that the wearer can see what time it is across the Earth with a simple glance.”
Nixon x Rolling Stones Watch Collection
It’s only rock n’ roll, but we love it. This limited collection from Nixon and The Rolling Stones is lit. Seriously gorgeous. And it’ll go quick. Hopefully, by the time you read this, there will be a watch left for you to snag. If not, wait for the second drop in October. The collection was created in part with Bravado. They’re part of Universal Music Group and provide consumer, branding and lifestyle products for musicians and bands throughout the world.
The five-piece collection is emblazoned with an immediately recognizable, ionic tongue. Prices range from $1600 for a watch to $50 for a watch strap. Each watch comes in a gorgeous presentation box that is sure to become a collector’s item.
First up is the Nixon X Rolling Stones Primacy watch. Only 250 of these watches were created. It’s a Japanese automatic and may possibly be longer than the band. It has a 20mm stainless steel band, and the woven dial features a bright red tongue against a deep blue background. This automatic has three gold-tone hands, a date complication at the three, and the side of the dial is engraved with “Nixon Rolling Stones” in black script. This limited-edition watch is water-resistant to 10 ATM/100M. The sapphire crystal is anti-glare and has scratch resistant coating. This watch has a skeleton back with Rolling Stones engraved on the crystal and clasp. It comes in a seriously gorgeous presentation box.
The Nixon X Rolling Stones 51-30 is a beast of a watch. The dial is 51mm and it has a water resistance to 30 ATM/300M. This oversized gold-tone watch is dive-worthy. Finally, the more affordable Nixon X Rolling Stones Time Teller (pictured below) lets you turn the volume up to 12 or keep it at 10. The gold-tone version of the Time Teller is classic looking. The center of the dial has the Stones tongue logo, and three hands sweep around it. The caseback has “Nixon /Rolling Stones” engraved on it. And the band’s name is also engraved on the clasp. It has the Minolta Japanese quartz three-hand movement and is water resistant to 10 ATM/100 M.
The second Nixon X Rolling Stones Time Teller is in a screamingly bright red. The all-red version features the spiked tongue logo that was used on T-shirts during the Voodoo Lounge tour (1994). The clasp and stem are black, creating a stunning contrast to the almost neon red hue of the watch and strap. Under the hood, the specs are the same.
Timex x Pan Am
Two storied brands who are woven into America’s history and pop culture have come together in a limited-edition watch collection. White Arabic numerals and indices assist in highlighting that color.

The case is 41mm with a 22 mm strap width (stainless steel). It has the Seiko VK64 Hybrid movement. Maurice LaCroix Pontos S Chronograph
This collection was recently released, and it contained five visually stunning chronographs. Out of all five, the below picture is the only one left as of this writing. This Swiss watchmaker designed a chronograph that is unique looking and incredibly well crafted. The sandblasted dial showcases the designer’s style. The two main counters are arranged vertically, and to the left is a tiny seconds counter placed at the nine. At the three lies the date and day complications. Hands and indices are coated in SuperLumiNova, so they can be read in the dark, or underwater. The scratch-resistant ceramic bezel also has a tachymeter.
CIGA Design M The Magician Series Watch
CIGA Design was created back in 2012 by Zhang Jianming, one of the top designers in China. In 2021, the watch company won the Grand Prix d’Horlogie de Genève (GPHG) and the “Challenge Watch Prize” for their Blue Planet watch during the annual awards event in Switzerland. This was the first time a Chinese brand beat out European and Japanese watch companies for the prize. The watch company has garnered column inches in Hodinkee, The New York Times and other publications.
The newest watch nicknamed “The Magician” is a paradigm shift in watch design. This one watch has three different cases. This skeleton mechanical watch can be dropped into a 46mm round case, 44mm geometric or octagon case, and a 46mm barrel case. The case materials are done in either stainless steel, steel or titanium. The strap is flouro-rubber. It is 3ATM waterproof and has a 40-hour power reserve. But that’s not the only innovation. It features a transparent inner cover. There will be four versions of the watch available:

STAPLE x Fossil
We covered the launch of streetwear designer STAPLE’s collab with Fossil. And gosh, how often can you pick up a wristwatch that looks like a sundial? Looking like a prop from a Sci-Fi movie, this new watch collection’s got holograms, terrazzo stone-inspired silicon straps and automatic movement. Luckily for watch lovers, these watches haven’t sold out. Yet.
Todd Snyder x Timex Utility Ranger
We covered the launch of this new men’s watch, and we’re still in love with it. Menswear fashion designer has created a series of watches with Timex, and each one is a winner. The Utility Ranger is a new iteration of Timex’s classic Navi (dive) watches. The watch’s palette captures the tones of being surrounded by a deep forest. The bezel is a dark orange that sits on a 41mm black case. The olive strap is inspired by vintage military watches. This automatic has a date complication and shows 12/24 on the dial. Water resistant to 100 meters, it utilizes Timex’s Indiglo so that you can read the watch underwater or in the dark.
Szanto Heritage Aviator Series
Luminox co-founder Barry Cohen created four watch brands under his new Time Concepts company. They are Hawaiian Life Guards, Bia Watches, Szanto, and 420Waldos Watches. Based in California, Szaanto specializes in new watches with a vintage touch. Not the innards, but how they’re styled. Szanto reimagines watches from pre-WWII to the 1970s and infuses them with a modern sensibility.
Their newly launched aviator series would look at home on WWII bombardier’s or pilot’s wrists.
The newest addition to the aviator collection is the Heritage Aviator Small Seconds 2755 Series, which comes in either military midnight blue or green. The Aviator Series runs on Japanese (Miyota 1L45) small seconds quartz movement, has thick Swiss SuperLuminova Lume on the hands and indices, so you can tell time no matter how dark it is. The watches have brushed stainless steel 41mm cases, hardened mineral crystal and are water-resistant to 100 meters.
G-SHOCK GMB2100GD-5A Full Metal 2100 Series
The new full metal G-Shock Casio watches are gorgeous, and they’re a statement piece in more ways than one. The over-sized metal watches will look great on your wrist, but they’re also a bit of a statement for G-Shock. The $600 price tag shows that the watch company is venturing into higher price points, and we’re here for it. These watches are still available for sale as of this writing, and they’re available in various finishes.
Welp, we were going to include MVMT’s 9th-anniversary watch, but it sold out in a blink of an eye. So, let’s talk about another new watch from them. Airhawk’s the brand’s new line of pilot watches that comes in silver, black, gunmetal gray, and the below dark rose gold AKA carnation gold.
The cleanly styled dial has three working subdials (date, day, 24-hour) and a main three-hand sweep and is a nicely sized 42mm case. The body’s comprised of stainless steel, it has a hardened mineral crystal and quartz movement.
Ulysse Nardin Great White Diver Chronograph
Swiss watch company Ulysse Nardin has always had a close relationship with the ocean. Since its1846, they’ve manufactured accurate marine chronometers enabling sailors to precisely chart their way through the seas. They’re the official time partner and recently announced their partnership with the 11th Hour Racing Team as their timekeeper. This new watch, the Great White Diver Chronograph, is a tangible item that exemplifies their commitment to the ocean.
With this watch, they will support several shark conservation initiatives. These include partnering with SHARKTRUST, the top European shark conservation charity that is attempting to reform unmanaged and unsustainable fisheries and working on global legislation on shark products. Ulysse Nardin, as a company, has pledged to donate 1% of the annual sales of all their shark watches to support nonprofit organizations that are focused on preservation.
